President Backs Massive Honey Production in Demerara River Communities

President Dr. Irfaan Ali has announced plans to boost honey production in communities along the Demerara River. During a recent visit, he highlighted the untapped potential of the area for agricultural ventures, particularly honey and its by-products like wax for soap and candles. The government promises to provide necessary training, protective gear, and hives for those interested. Additionally, support for women in these communities to engage in hot pepper farming through shade houses was also proposed, with the government ready to supply roofing and mesh materials.
