President Ali’s Housing Vision for Service Members

During Guyana’s 58th Independence Anniversary flag-raising ceremony in Linden, President Dr. Irfaan Ali announced a goal for all members of the disciplined forces to own homes within three years. This initiative is part of a broader housing drive by the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) government, which aims to allocate 50,000 house lots in five years. So far, 30,000 house lots have been distributed, with substantial investments made in housing developments, particularly in Region 10, where $3 billion has been invested. The President emphasized that homeownership for service members is crucial for ensuring their dignity and prosperity.
