At the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the Private Sector Commission held at the Guyana Marriott Hotel, President Dr. Irfaan Ali emphasized the government's commitment to fostering a competitive non-oil economy. Highlighting the pivotal role of the private sector in national development, he encouraged investments in manufacturing, agro-processing, and mineral value addition. President Ali noted significant foreign direct investment growth in agriculture, projecting substantial savings on imports and advocating for stronger private sector and financial institution collaboration to harness these opportunities. The president reaffirmed his support for small-scale enterprises and the strategic positioning of 'Brand Guyana' as a valuable national asset.
