President Ali Advocates for Agritourism in Demerara River Communities

President Dr. Irfaan Ali proposed the development of agritourism ventures in the communities along the Demerara River to enhance economic opportunities. During his visit to these areas, he emphasized the potential for eco-agritourism, suggesting that the scenic landscapes and agricultural activities could attract tourists interested in rural life and fresh produce. The government plans to support these initiatives and other food production ventures, such as the development of 60 acres of land in Sand Hill for intensive agriculture, provided the residents commit to collaborative efforts.
