GPL Adds 35MW to National Grid from Power Ship

The Guyana Power and Light Inc. (GPL) has integrated a 36-megawatt power ship into the national grid, now operating at 35MW with plans to reach full capacity after final testing. This addition aims to alleviate frequent power outages by boosting the country's generating capacity. The power ship, stationed in East Bank Berbice, is part of GPL's strategy to stabilize electricity supply ahead of the Gas-to-Energy Project expected next year.
